The time has come my friends to celebrate the Mexican army’s triumph over France in 1852! Those of you who think today is Mexican Independence Day need to drop the Corona and sober up. You see, nothing says raw sex appeal like Mexican military history. No doubt we will all focus on the strategic importance of this victory rather than get piss drunk on tequila and stuff our mouths with all manner of finger food. But if you must indulge in the tomfoolery of celebrating Mexican culture, drink with style. The sexy senoritas and senors will respond more favorably to a beverage of this caliber than to a margarita made from that acidic pre-mix and bad tequila. Now make like a Mexican jumping bean and dance around that sombrero. Ole!
Total time: approximately 7 minutes
Projected cost: $4 (excluding cost of booze)
Eating Buddy:fish pink food
Ingredients (for 2 drinks):
1. 2 tablespoons of raw cane sugar
2. 3 shots of silver tequila
3. 1 shot of triple sec
4. 2 shots of vodka
5. 12 ounces of mango nectar
6. 2 small handfuls of fresh mint leaves
7. 2 handfuls of ice
8. ½ a lime
Step 1
Before you get down to this banging margarita, create a sugar crust for the glasses. Pour out the sugar in a bowl wider than the rim of glasses you are using. Rub limejuice on the rims of the glasses and then dip them into the sugar, twisting a little so the sugar cakes around the rim.
Step 2
Combine the ice, vodka, triple sec and tequila in a large martini shaker (or large pitcher). Shake it up like James Bond and pour it into the sugar-ringed glasses. Throw some mint to garnish and squeeze the remaining limejuice in the glasses.
